The UK Labour leader is stirring his base with an attack on private equity as “asset strippers”, though his political rhetoric may be difficult to translate into Labour policy.

London-listed private equity group 3i has fallen out of the FTSE 100 for the second time in three years, after its share price failed to keep pace with a stock market rally yesterday.

An overwhelming majority of investors who responded to a recent survey planned to maintain or increase their allocations to private equity, with high fees and a lack of transparency dissuading the remainder from committing more capital to the asset class.
