The PPP/PFI infrastructure fund has bought a 30% equity and loan note interest in a concession to maintain nine primary schools and one special education needs facility in Scotland.

Filipino consortia Citicore/Megawide and PF Corp/Riverbanks have signed contracts to build and maintain over 9,000 classrooms under the first phase of the PPP for School Infrastructure Project (PSIP).

The London-listed infrastructure fund has acquired a further 9% equity and loan note interest in the £2bn Connect Project. It has also bought a 50% equity and 75% loan note interest in health and social care facilities developer Prime LIFT Investments.

The government is inviting the private sector to qualify for the tender to build and operate 50 schools – the first phase of a scheme that aims to establish 2,500 new schools. The submission deadline is October 20.

A consortium of Leighton subsidiary John Holland, Pindan, Capella Capital and Honeywell has been chosen for the redevelopment of the Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison project, in Western Australia.

The Spanish bank has bought 90% of the A$250m Taralga Wind Farm from RES for an undisclosed sum. Australian renewables group CBD Energy owns a 10% share in the project.

The Prime Minister has announced the next steps in the sale of up to 49% of state-owned Mighty River Power, a company with a large renewables footprint, expected to come to market in the second quarter of 2013.

The loan will partly support the Philippine government’s measures to improve infrastructure development. It carries an interest rate of 1.4% per annum for 30 years, inclusive of a 10-year grace period.

Bids for the Manila Light Rail Transit extension project may only be forthcoming in the first quarter of next year. Over 30 firms have purchased bid documents for the project.
