India’s Infrastructure Development Finance Company has raised a total of $575m through a share sale to domestic and international institutional investors.

DIF Infrastructure II has acquired a new wind project in northern France with a total capacity of 20 megawatts. This is the third wind project acquired by DIF in June, taking its wind portfolio to 410 megawatts.

GMR Infrastructure has set up a separate holding company for its airports business. A source says the restructuring will still take time as GMR’s airport stakes are now ‘moving from entity to entity’.

GMR Infrastructure, in a joint venture with Malaysian Airports, has won the contract to expand and operate Male International Airport, in the Maldives. The project is estimated to cost $360m and will be financed with a 75:25 debt-to-equity ratio.

A Carillion joint venture, Carillion Secure Solutions, has been awarded the contract for the Forensic Services and Coroner’s Complex in Toronto. The project is expected to generate revenue of £306m for Carillion.

A forum of 12 chief executive officers from India and the US have recommended the creation of a debt fund to the tune of $10bn for India’s infrastructure development. This is in addition to the Indian government's proposal for an $11bn fund.

DIF Infrastructure II has acquired a new wind project in France with a total capacity of 9.2 megawatts.

The London-based private equity firm has approached the European Investment Bank (EIB) for €50m in financing for its second renewable energy fund, which is targeting €500m in total.

The government of St. Petersburg and VINCI have signed a concession agreement to design, build and operate the Orlovsky tunnel, estimated at 44.7bn roubles. The two sides are expected to reach financial close by May 2011.

ICICI Bank has hired the former head of Babcock & Brown India to spearhead its “soon to be launched” $500m infrastructure fund. The fund is expected to invest in various sectors across Indian infrastructure.
